Iranian film ‘For What Sin’ participating in IWFFT

Iranian ‘For What Sin’ is competing at the Int’l Women Filmmakers Festival Turkey.

Iranian short flick ‘For What Sin’ has been competing at the International Women Filmmakers Festival Turkey (IWFFT).

According to the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, ‘For What Sin’ is participating in the fifth edition of the IWFFT which is underway in Izmir.

Directed by Maryam Ebrahimvand, the documentary is about some kids who were born in prison and are raised there only because of the crime their mother or father committed.

Earlier reports said Iranian short film ‘Pass’ by Elika Abdollahi is also taking part in the IWFFT.

The IWFFT aims to “make woman film directors and their movies recognizable by bringing woman filmmakers and other female cinema industry workers together”, and to “support and encourage creative women by creating new networks & perspectives, finding possible funds, and making space for the new coming filmmakers’ generation”, the website of the event reads.

The 5th edition of the IWFFT kicked off on February 27 and will run until March 8.
